Pulau Pangkor

Pulau Pangkor is located in the state of Perak , in the waters of the Straits of Malacca . The extent of only 2.200 hectares and its population of approximately 25,000 people. Pulau Pangkor is one of the major tourist destinations in Malaysia .

Getting there

Pangkor Berjaya Air

To go to Pulau Pangkor, there is a base or a jetty in Lumut . Take the ferry at Lumut , 20 minutes, from 2003 fare ferry charged RM10.00 for adults and RM6.00 for children.

History

Pulau Pangkor is famous for a long time.

1874: Sir Andrew Clarke as Governor of the Straits Settlements, which is headquartered in Singapore has come to Pangkor Island to sign the Treaty of Pangkor . Only 30% of the DRTPP will be developed by 2015 and the remainder retained as forest reserves.
