Pulau Pangkor

Pulau Pangkor is located in the state of Perak , in the waters of the Straits of Malacca . The extent of only 2.200 hectares and its population of approximately 25,000 people. Pulau Pangkor is one of the major tourist destinations in Malaysia .

Getting there
- To go to Pulau Pangkor, there is a base or a jetty in Lumut . Take the ferry at Lumut , 20 minutes, from 2003 fare ferry charged RM10.00 for adults and RM6.00 for children.
- Ipoh Lumut highway to facilitate travel from Ipoh to picnic on the island of Pangkor . 90 km in the urban Southwest Ipoh .

History
Pulau Pangkor is famous for a long time.
- 1670: The Netherlands has made the island of Pangkor as a location for unloading ore from the state. City of Holland has been built to store tin and other merchandise from the state. Pirate activity always occurs in the Strait of wall .
- 1874: Sir Andrew Clarke as Governor of the Straits Settlements, which is headquartered in Singapore has come to Pangkor Island to sign the Treaty of Pangkor . Land Use
Only 30% of the DRTPP will be developed by 2015 and the remainder retained as forest reserves.

- Tourism development including hotels, chalets, guesthouses, souvenir shops and so forth.
Public utilities

These components will be developed in both these areas, including areas of business, cultural centers, handicrafts, hotels, conference centers, convention centers and maritime.
- Pulau Pangkor Forest Reserve - to be developed as eco-tourism and recreational forests. Held an information center, the pilot of the forest garden plants and herbs. Recreational facilities in the forest, such as walking tracks, suspension bridges, towers of view, rest facilities, musalla, public toilets, the nomination of the board and will be developed.

Visit Raja Nazrin Shah
On February 19, 2010, Raja Muda Perak Raja Dr Nazrin Shah has visited Pangkor Island with Raja Puan Besar Perak Tuanku Zara Salim Davidson . He went to the National School Sri Pangkor in the village mosque and pray in the Mosque of the King of Shadows Bay and attend the celebration of Chinese New Year at Dataran Pangkor .
Also joining the Mufti of Perak , Tan Sri Harussani Zakaria , Minister of Housing and Local Government Datuk Kong Cho Ha and Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir .
